When is the next Preparation Course

We aim to run 2 Volunteer Preparation Courses Annually.  These usally take place during the Spring & Autumn months.

Home-Start Ashfield has been supporting families for the past 29 years.  We are now recruiting Volunteers to join our committed team, from all parts of the Ashfield District.

If you are a parent / grandparent yourself, and can spare 2-3 hours a week to help a young family, who are experiencing some kind of difficulty, please contact us. Full training and on-going support will be given. The days and the times of your volunteering are tailored to suit your availability.

Families are all different and so are their needs, so we welcome volunteers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Volunteers of all ages and nationalities are welcome.

During this time we explore all aspects of parenting, its joys and its challenges, we will present our core values of Confidentiality, Safeguarding Children and Equality & Diversity. As well as the Volunteer’s Role and Personal Safety, we can help you gain experience and skills to link into Family Support  or Health and Social Care Roles.

You will gain confidence and meet new friends and have some fun.  We need to take up 2 references and you will need to complete a Criminal Records Check and a home visit interview as part of our safe recruitment process.

Out of pocket expenses will be paid, including child care allowance at a set rate
